UPDATE: UPDATE: LUNCH WILL BEGIN AT 10:20. DISMISSAL PROCEDURES WILL BEGIN AT 11:30 AM.
Tiger Family,
We have encountered some tornadic forced winds at our High School campus within the last hour. We have downed trees and power lines around that campus.
Everyone is okay and there is no damage to the campus. We plan to feed the kids and THEN MAKE A DISTRICT CALL regarding both campuses. If you would like to pick your kids up, we are prepared to get them to you.
WE STILL HAVE LIGHTS AT THE ELEMENTARY.
This post will be updated with a time.
Good Evening Tiger Family,
Whether you find this post tonight or in the morning, we are actively monitoring the ongoings around the district involving the latest weather system. We have been made aware that there are many without lights tonight. We are praying for your safety and comfort tonight.
As for now, the district will still open at regular time. Our goal is to get those who are able to make it here safely a hot meal and any other amenities they may need. Please practice safety. If you see water, please don't try to cross. If WSISD may be of any assistance, please contact one of the offices, and we will do our very best to assist any of our families.
We are less than two weeks away from our annual Health & Wellness Night. We will provide a free bowl of our famous vegetable soup, we have 30 available free resources, we have several great door prizes sponsored by local businesses and community members, and anyone in Sabine County can attend. Mark your calendars now and bring your family and friends. You don't want to miss this!

Tomorrow morning, please join us for a “Coffee Talk” to discuss “All Things West Sabine!” Bond, Student/District Programs, Growth, Finances, etc.
This will be the first of many meetings. If you cannot make it, we will make sure that you have the opportunity to discuss.

Good Morning Tiger Nation,
There has been a lot of buzz around the community since the renovation of the Pineland Square Building has begun. Please see the following flyer to review plans for the building. We are happy to bring a central location for many of the regional services offered in our Deep East Texas Area.
Also, we knew that this project would initiate conversation regarding the bond that will be on the May ballot. We will begin announcing dates and locations to host meetings to discuss the bond package that will be placed on your May ballot. Please be mindful of where you get your information. We seek to be transparent and 100% thorough with the information that our voters deserve.
We have put a package together that will raise the district standard and align our kids up for success. More information to come. Have a fabulous day!

Our library has expanded their hours to benefit the community. Please see the following graphic.
Feb. 5-9 is National School Counseling Week. We would like to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
The special week honoring school counselors provides recognition for school counselors who “implement comprehensive school counseling programs, a vital part of the educational process for all students as they meet the challenges of the 21st century.” We would like to recognize our very own Mrs. Samantha Burrow and celebrate her this week!
